Hello everyone,

My name is Janina and I am based in Hamburg, Germany. I am fundraising for my friend Youssef Al-Jabary and his family of 8, who are currently trapped in the Gaza Strip. I've set up the fundraiser for them as they are unable to do so themselves because of their location being in Gaza.

They are living in a tent in the Al-Mawasi area under extremely difficult conditions.

As you may know, the situation in Gaza has become unimaginably devastating — words are no longer enough to describe it.

With a active stage five famine starvation campaign going on and the markets being almost empty, Youssef and his family depend on you help

Prices are at an all-time high, and the little food available is extremely expensive.

Taking into account the needs of a family of eight, including two children aged 12 and 15, and the fact that Youssef and his siblings are trying to continue their studies despite the circumstances, we have made the decision to increase the fundraiser's target to 44,000€.

Below is a breakdown of their estimated expenses over the next six months:

Electricity: 90 USD/month → 540 USD total

Hygiene supplies: 320 USD/month → 1,920 USD total

Food and water: 2,400 USD/month → 14,400 USD total

Medicine for his father’s diabetes: 535 USD/month → 3,210 USD total

Internet access: 40 USD/month → 240 USD total

Wood: 240 USD/month → 1,440 USD total

Clothing: 3,600 USD (for 6 months)

Education for Youssef and his siblings: 4,695 USD (for 6 months)

Emergency fund in case of a new evacuation order: 3,600 USD (for 6 months)

In addition to these expenses, the transfer fee to send funds to Youssef and enable withdrawals within Gaza varies but is currently around 40%.

Taking all of this into account, and to secure their survival for at least the next six months, we have decided to increase the fundraiser’s goal.
