Father’s request for help

A few months ago I was diagnosed with cancer and only given a few months to live. My new oncologist said I had better prognosis and that I should be able to make it a year.
My melanoma cancer is unusual because it NEVER started on the outside of my skin where it could have been early detected but it started under my skin in my saliva gland. When this first started I felt tired but that feeling never went away no matter how much I rested. A few weeks later I noticed a very small lump under my jaw. The first doctor I saw thought I had an infection and gave me pills. The second doctor I saw after looking at the X-ray said there was nothing wrong with me and that it was just an abnormal growth. I didn’t listen and continued to argue with him. I think he ended up doing a biopsy just to shut me up. The results of the biopsy was cancer. From my beginning symptoms to being diagnosed with cancer took less than 6weeks. Two weeks later I would be diagnosed with another cancer in my neck(thyroid cancer) I talked to the Chief Oncologist at the VA hospital in Indianapolis and he said he believed my melanoma/thyroid cancer was a result of overseas environmental exposures from the military. The Doctor also said that he has seen an increase with veterans of Iraq/Afghanistan being diagnosed with cancer and other health problems. The possible causes for this increase may be do to Burn pits, high frequency RF radios, signal-jammers and even the chemicals that bleached into our plastic water bottles from being left in the sun. Unfortunately there is no official study being conducted to link these exposures to veteran health problems. I was never in a high category of getting cancer in my life. I worked-out everyday and ate as healthy as I could. I Didn’t use any drugs and drank maybe 2 beers a year. Even if there is a chance that I was exposed to something in my military service that caused my cancer and it ends up killing me,
I would still do it again. No Regrets.
As of December 1st my company’s insurance will pay me at 40% for long term disability. Because of the radiation and immunotherapy treatments I’m unable to return to work. Unfortunately my wife is not able to work full time because I’m not capable of taking care of a 18 month old baby because of the side effects from my treatment. My family is starting to feel the pain from the bills pilling up. I’m married and a father of four children who I’m very proud of. I served in the Marines and Army Infantry and did multiple tours in Iraq and other combat zones. Being a grunt for over ten years has made me a very prideful person but seeing the emotional stress my family has been put through with my cancer diagnosis has humbled me. I’m asking for any financial help to counter the raising bills my family is getting from bills and my cancer treatment. I was given a new prognosis of
80% chance to make it 1year and 40% chance to make it 5years. I’m gonna fight my hardest to beat those odds.   Thank you everyone for your help.

Update on life insurance
5 years ago I was a single father raising three children on my own and knew I needed more life insurance so that my children would be taken care of if anything happened to me. I decided to go through my Company’s life insurance which was Prudential and raise my life insurance coverage. Prudential NEVER informed me of my denied raise in coverage because I had sustained injuries in Iraq that had put me at high risk. Coughing up blood from my lungs and going to the emergency room was also another incident that flagged me. Prudential didn’t see anything wrong with not sending me a letter or email to inform me of my denied raise in coverage. I was never charged the increase of $36 a month in my insurance plan so there was nothing I could do legally. Prudential had left me in my original  basic life insurance plan. POS company
