Father fighting a rare condition
Spende geschützt
Hello all. My name is Jake, and I am a proud husband and father of four. The past month has been a complete whirlwind of fighting to improve my health and provide for my family. What started as nagging stomach pains has quickly turned into multiple hospital visits and a few emergency room situations. On my first visit, the ER doctors diagnosed me with diverticulitis and gave me an intense 10-day cycle of antibiotics. The pain subsided for 48 hours. Then, 2 days later, the pain was excruciating, so we returned for a second opinion. That specialist said an omental infarction was to blame and sent me home with more antibiotics. Last night, we again had to go to the ER because the pain had spread to what felt like every inch of my body. We were told last night that antibiotics would not help with the omental infarction. The on-call doctor ordered another ct scan, which showed inflammation, but they don't know what is causing it to flare. The doctor said an MRI, a gastrologist, and a primary care doctor were needed to treat long-term. The MRI results will help us determine what is causing the pain and triggering the inflammation. We need help with medical costs, travel expenses back and forth to Amarillo or Dallas, and providing for my family's daily needs until I am well enough to get back to work. My wife, Courtney, works full time, but it has not been enough to cover our mounting medical bills. The health journey for our family has just begun because we have little information other than a diagnosis of a rare condition that is still not 100 percent certain. My family and I would genuinely appreciate any help you could provide.
