Faith's 18th birthday car fund

My old Mitsubishi that Faith has been driving to school and work had 3rd gear go out.  The cost of transmission repair and other issues the car is having is more than what it's worth.  This past weekend we found a used Honda Accord in really great shape that I got her.  The car cost $8000 which she is willing to pay for, but thought it would be a really nice 18th birthday gift if we could pool funds and come up with a big payment to at least knock down what she owes.  Her birthday is coming up in March and her first payment is actually on her birthday (13th).  Please help me give her a great 18th birthday gift.
