Facing Africa - Facial Reconstruction for Noma
Dr. Guillemaud has been a surgical volunteer with Facing Africa, a foundation that primarily treats survivors of Noma, which is a devastating, rapidly destructive, and often lethal gangrenous facial infection. The victims of Noma are mainly children under the age of 6, caught in a vicious circle of extreme poverty and chronic malnutrition. The ~10% of children that survive this infection are left with massively disfiguring and functionally impairing deformities of their face.
In an effort to increase awareness about this devastating disease, and boost her fundraising efforts for future surgical trips to Ethiopia, Dr. Guillemaud is excited to announce that all APRIL AND MAY donations will be MATCHED by Calgary Skin Cancer Centre (donations via this GoFundMe page, or in-person at our surgical Centre), up to $5000.
So, if you are able to donate, please do. And if not, you can still help our fundraising efforts by sharing this link or our social media post(s). Thank- you!!!
