Fighting the Fight with Lori

Donation protected
On March 9, 2016 our family received the most shocking and unexpected news......our mom Lori has breast cancer. Stage 2 invasive ductal carcenoma. We never saw this coming. Now for all of you that don't know Lori, she is a soldier, teacher, role model, and much more. She is strong, beautiful, and independant. She is an amazing mother, a phenomenal grandmother, a loving daughter, a caring aunt, the best mother in law anyone could ever ask for, and not to mention fierce and loyal best friend. This is a woman who raised three children as a single mother while going to school and working full time, who joined the military at 39, in 2010, and recieved her commision as a 2LT from Federal OCS at Fort Benning, in 2011. She is a company commander in the CA National Guard and was working full-time State Active Duty when we got the news. Needless to say she is a badass. Her strength continues to shine as she tackles each day with a positive attitute. Even when she cries she pulls herself up, brushes herself off, and fights on. She continues to try and take care of her family while we are the ones making sure we take care of her.

We are still learning more and more about her cancer as some tests have not come back yet. On April 7, 2016, surrounded by the loving support of family and friends, she underwent a partial mastectomy where her cancer mass, surrounding tissue, muscle, and lymph nodes were removed. Until the doctors get results from analyzing the tumor and lymph nodes, we won't be sure if she will need chemo. However, we do know for sure, that she will undergo radiation and hormone therapy.

This is where we are reaching out for help! Her medical bills are now starting to come in and growing quickly... We (her kids) are helping her in anyway we can, but this is one area we are at a standstill. Please join us in helping make sure this is not an area giving her more to stress over; we love our mom and just want the best for her.  Any donations received will go directly to pay medical bills/expenses, and as you know every little bit helps.

You all know she is going to be giving it her ALL regardles of what she has to do... so please help Lori (Mom) "FIGHT the FIGHT" and BEAT Breast Cancer.   Above all... prayer, good vibes, and best well wishes are much appreciated and loved.

We will update you as she continues her journey.  From our family to yours, thank you for taking your time to read her story and joining in the fight.      God Bless
