Cam's Wheelchair Accessible Van

Hello,
We are Mike and Rod. We're organizing this fundraiser to raise money for our best friend Cameron Dewar. He is a high level quadriplegic, and desperately needs a new wheelchair accessible van. His current van is a 1994 Caravan, which he originally purchased a couple years after his accident. He was 18 at the time, and now is 38. It has served him very well, but it is now 22 years old, and not only is reliability a big concern, but the van (interior and exterior) has deteriorated greatly. Also, due to the very dated modifications and Cam growing since he originally purchased the van, he can't physically enter it without hitting his head on the roof.
For someone with a spinal cord injury, a vehicle modified to suit their needs is second only to their wheelchair as far as mobility and independence is concerned. Cam is as active as he can be, and having his own accessible van plays a major role in this. Without an accessible van of his own, he wouldn't be able to travel anywhere outside of his small town, and this would be a major setback. With Cam being a high level quadriplegic, he can't sit it regular vehicles like some paraplegics can. He has to remain in his electric wheelchair. This is why a new van with a lowered floor is so important to anyone with a disability like Cam's.
A new accessible van that suits his needs costs $50,000, and as of now he doesn't have any funding from charities. Hopefully this will change, but even if it does, the funding won't cover the whole price of a new vehicle.
