Countering Sexual Harassment in Bangladesh

WeMen View is an initiative which aims to counter sexual harassment, sexism and gender roles by concentrating on Men/Boys through:
1) Visiting schools and colleges of the city (boys and co-curricular) to conduct seminars and workshops to spread the message of personal space, consent, good touch/bad touch, and basic gender equality, integrity and empathy
2) Discussing with parents how strict gender-roles established on children and others around them can have a negative repercussion and creating an online curriculum for them
3) Creating online web-content and web-illustrations for spreading our message
4) Introducing a Psychosocial Support System for everyone but focusing on Men or Boys via social media.
Aim:
To reach 2000 students from the underprivileged society of Bangladesh within 2020 and train them to stand up against sexual harassment. So that they can spread healthier mindsets about gender roles and consent and not be perpetrators themselves.
Key Contribution and Achievements:
Conducting workshops on Gender Roles, Personal Space, Consent, Good and Bad touch, third party intervention in case of harassment and reaching more than 600 children of age 8-14 through workshops.
Winning the “Best Volunteer Group Award” and 300 USD from UN Volunteers, Action Aid, and VSO.
Creating Wall Arts in Schools called “The Wall of Equality”
Reaching 100,000+ people on a social media campaign on “Consent"
