Winter Donations for the Meeting Place
A few weeks ago, one of the Shapers was volunteering at the Meeting Place, a program of West Neighbourhood House (official CRA name The St Christopher House), an organization working to increase social networks and access to income through advocacy, public education, and skill development. One of the many items they provide is warm clothing for those in need. http://www.westnh.org/programs-and-resources/adults/drop-ins/the-meeting-place/
Our Shaper saw a human need in need come into the space searching for warm clothes, only to leave with a single old coat that was falling apart because everything else had already been given away to others.
This holiday season, we are calling on you. We'll be collecting used clothing or cash to help the Meeting Place continue their great work.
You can drop off winter jackets, clothes, scarves, mittens, bags, and hygiene products (pads, tampons, baby wipes, etc) with security in the lobby of the Thompson Building from now until December 14th between 10 AM - 5 PM
If these aren't items you can donate and would still like to help, please donate at this page. This money will be used to specifically buy items listed above.
