Ex-pats supporting South Africa

We are Keren and Elan Zwick - parents to 3 wonderful children and 1 fur baby. 

We left  Johannesburg, South Africa in 2018 - our home, our family, our friends.

Immigration is nothing new and it isn't unique to South Africa - people move and relocate all the time.

But; what is unique is that South Africa never leaves you.

Ask any ex-South African and they will tell you what they miss about home - the warmth of the people, the incredible natural beauty,
the diversity in every aspect, for some, even the local fresh produce or biltong. You could be gone for 3 years or 30 - it won't change a thing.

What is certain though - is that South Africa is in a very challenging situation right now - and we all need to step up and help.

The world is in chaos. The globe is facing a pandemic of epic proportions. Over and above this, South Africa is in the midst of a true
humanitarian crisis.

$1 is worth a fair bit more in ZAR - so  we are asking you, pleading with you, let's help!

Let's show we care and let's show the generosity of the South African spirit always goes with us, no matter where we choose to reside.

For this campaign, we have listed The Angel Network South Africa as our main beneficiary - an incredible, on-the-ground NPO making a
real and tangible difference to the lives of so many. 

The Angel Network is not affiliated to any one charity, but rather offers assistance to established welfare organisations, whenever and
wherever help is needed. 

The Angel Network are currently running 2 campaigns which is where we have decided to donate the funds:

1. Forever Teri/Mandela Appeal - R167 will keep orphaned and vulnerable children warm this winter with a beautiful set of gloves, scarf,
beanie and poncho
2. Cosy Comfort Packs - R360 contains a sleeping bag, a pillow, blanket and a meal all wrapped up in a sturdy carry bag. 

We all know financial mismanagement and theft is all too commonplace, so we have been incredibly selective about where this funding        ends up; because the aim is not to line bureaucratic pockets, but to help those truly affected. We aim to transfer donations to the Angel
Network every two weeks.

Due to South Africa not being a supported country by Gofundme for funds withdrawal purposes, I (Elan Zwick) will withdraw funds
raised into my personal Australian bank account and  transfer the funds directly to The Angle Network in South Africa via EFT
