Ewa's Farewell: Help Her Son, Adam in This Time

Hello, my name is Julia Scibich, granddaughter of Ewa Scibich. Ewa Scibich has passed away peacefully on her son’s shoulder, at home, on March 8th, 2025. I am creating this fundraiser to help support my father, Adam Scibich, in dealing with the cost of funeral, cremation, travel & any additional costs that may arise.

Ewa Scibich was a very… & when I say very I mean it…. Very strong woman. She always found a way to provide for her family whether it was with help or alone. She lived with my father for most the years & then alone. Though the last few months her health took a turn & it was hospital stay after hospital stay.

She had a thyroid surgery in Poland (her hometown) & when she came back home to America everything went downhill. Luckily she has had my dad, her son, by her side through it all. Eventually as time passed… as it came too fast for us, it definitely came slow for her. She was unable to speak, unable to walk, unable to eat & unable to drink… the list goes on.

This was hard to imagine in the past… as I’ve mentioned before, she did live alone for a while. She worked up until she couldn’t (80 years old) …. & that was not just office work, but she did housekeeping… which for anyone that has experienced it.., you know it was definitely not easy… but she made it happen.

She was always very hardworking…. I made her a promise before she passed that I will continue to express how strong of a woman she was… & I truly mean it. No matter what, I’ve always viewed her as someone who is .. you could say .. “unmatched” because of how much she has done for herself & family.

Today her suffering has ended. She was … as I call it.. “in her safe space”. This is a relief but also a very sad incident. As I said before, she passed away on her son’s shoulder, resting…. She said she was ready & God took her.

At first it was a shock to me that she was released from the hospital & could come home…. But I truly believe it was God letting her come home & find peace to pass away. She was comfortable & with her Son… they closed their eyes as they rested & when my dad woke back up… she was gone. Yes, it’s not easy, but it was the best way for her to pass peacefully & for that I am extremely grateful.

I ask for help with raising money because I don’t want this to be anymore stressful on my dad than it needs to be. The rest of the family is in Poland & I know it all falls on him… I am by his side for the emotional support.. I unfortunately cannot provide financially, so I created this fundraiser in hopes of it helping him.

My grandma’s wish was to be cremated & to be taken to Poland. We will have a service both in America & Poland. All the proceeds will go to him for help with the finances that come his way.
