Greetings to everyone.

This is the best and only way I can help my dear Aunt, my Mama Lhen, who is in Australia and has passed away on the 26th of December 2023. I am hoping that you can extend your help as well, how little it may be, to one of the most selfless and loving daughter, wife, sister, sister in law, friend, colleague, aunt and a second mom I know.

Her name is Evelyn Sy Bartolo. She is 64 years old and was at the ICU at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. She was admitted on December 24, 2023. Upon admission, the doctor revealed that the bleeding in her brain had almost tripled from the maximum amount the brain could take. That's why she fell into a coma and was put on life support. On December 26, 2023, at 11.20 am, the doctor declared her brain dead. They tried to remove the life support to see if she could breathe on her own, but it evidently showed that the machine is the only reason she is still with us right now.

My aunt is nothing but caring, thoughtful, reliable, and one with a big heart. Prior to what happened, she was baking non-stop couple of days before Christmas. Not for money but primarily for the happiness that brings her seeing and hearing her friends and family enjoy her baked goods made with love. 

I will never forget how their house smells during this season or even on regular days as she’s always baking, or if not, she loves talking about it. I know deep down she’s a bit frustrated at me as I never learned anything from her but I love her food regardless.

I will miss your famous ensaymada Mama lhen, with cream and without….For sure a lot of people would do too.

All I ask is for us to keep this wonderful memory like this of her alive.

Our family would like to invite you to the Viewing and Funeral Service which will take place at the Chapel at: 

Northern Suburbs Memorial Park and Crematorium (EAST CHAPEL) 199 Delhi Road, North Ryde NSW 2113 

Time: 2.30pm 

There will be an after service gathering to be held which you are warmly invited to, at: 

North Ryde School of Arts Community Centre 201 Coxs Road, North Ryde NSW 2113

Our Aunt Evelyn will be cremated after the service as there will be no burial. Thank you.
