Stand With Teachers Against Child Detention

On President's Day weekend, there will be a "Teach In" with Teachers Against Child Detention (TACD) in El Paso, Texas. TACD is an alliance between teachers, education associations, immigrant rights advocates, faith organizations and people concerned about the welfare of innocent immigrant children in U.S. Government detention.

Teachers are mandatory reporters, required under U.S. law to report suspected child abuse to responsible authorities. TACD calls on all educators to act as mandatory reporters to demand the end to the detention and criminalization of immigrant children and their families. 

I would like to take part in the "Teach In" and am raising funds for it. Any amount counts just as one individual can make a difference. Thank you in advance for your thoughts (even if you are unable to donate) and your contributions. The funds will pay for the flight, lodging, and transportation for this event. 

For those of you who know me or know of me, I will never stop advocating for the rights of immigrant and refugee children and youth.
