Erie Times News Old Newsies

Tax deductible
The Erie Times-News Old Newsies have been collecting for the needy in Erie, PA, since 1937. Each year on the first Friday in December, the Newsies fan out all over Erie, PA, "selling" that day's Times-News and collecting for the needy. We are back again this year, 2022, to continue our mission. The Erie Times Newspaper Needy Fund also collects donations from advertisements in the paper, and you can continue to donate via our annual Go Fund Me Campaign.
Originally the newsies were former newspaper boys and girls, but today it is made up of volunteers, both old newspaper persons and those interested in helping the needy. The goal of the Newsies is to raise funds to provide food for the needy around the December holidays. 100% of the proceeds collected are used toward food, and the Erie Times-News Publishing Company provides most administrative costs.
Please help us make the 2022 holiday season a time to serve our fellow citizens, many of whom are experiencing extraordinary challenges this year. God Bless you, and be safe...
