Erik and Angie’s Cancer Battle, Be an Angel.

Hi, my name is Jeff Gerry. I am here to raise funds for Erik and Angie Emanuelson. Erik is a very close friend and would have difficulty asking for assistance. That is not the kind of individual he is. Erik is usually the helper, not someone in need. He has worked as a second-generation tiler for over 30 years. Angie works as an HR manager for a small company. She is an incredible person and one of the kindest individuals you could ever meet. Angie is Erik’s Angel. She has been by his side for the last 21 years. She does what angels do, keeping Eric in line. Erik used to be a little wild, so she is a perfect match. She makes Eric a better man. They are an awesome couple to be around. Erik 49, and Angie, a young 46.

So when Angie went to the doctor just three weeks ago, no one could have imagined the devastating news she would receive. The doctor determined that Angie has stage 4 colon cancer that is attacking her liver, causing painful swelling. But before they could begin treatment, they needed a biopsy to identify the specific type of cancer cells. This was on Friday; they then sent Angie home swollen in pain to wait for a phone call. By Monday afternoon still no phone call. Erik then called the hospital, and there was a miscommunication on scheduling. Biopsy gets rescheduled for Wednesday, 9/28/22. Unfortunately, that day was when Hurricane Ian made landfall, and the biopsy had to be rescheduled. With Angie still in pain, they finally get the Biopsy before another weekend passes. The news is not good Angie has a rare and aggressive cancer called small cell neuroendocrine. The doctors started a potent cocktail of chemotherapy. After the first treatment, Angie did not respond very well. Erik has stopped working to give his wife 24/7 care. It’s just been two weeks they have gone from two incomes to no income.

I am asking for donations to help these two wonderful people with all the bills that come with this battle. As I write this today, Angie is enduring her second round of treatment. She is typically a thin-fit woman but looks six months pregnant because of her liver swelling.
