Equine Coach Lynn Baskfield Takes on Cancer Again—Update

Hi! My name is Wendy Sharpe and I am requesting assistance for my dear friend and colleague Lynn Baskfield. I am presenting this request with the support of Lynn’s “Good Trouble” PQ pod-mates Michelle Burns, Mary Cayan, Bev Lutz and my husband Jim Earley.

Lynn had a recurrence of head and neck cancer which has made the healing journey quite intense. She has just completed a challenging, exhausting, and rigorous series of chemo and radiation and is in nearly constant pain.

Now Lynn is embarking on a new path of healing with her medical team and integrative healing work with her acupuncturist, cancer coach, massage therapist, healer, nutritionist, and support groups as she is able. Recovery from chemo and radiation takes time and the support of friends, family, and community.

Those around Lynn know her gentle, generous, and loving spirit. Through it all, Lynn carries on fully living her life and inspiring others. Lynn thinks of many others and especially of her dear friend Mara and her 3 children who struggle with poverty in the third world country of Belize. As you can see, she worries more about others than herself.

Lynn’s work as a coach has impacted thousands of people directly and indirectly—always committed to making a difference in the world. And miracles happen when she brings in her horse friends to the coaching arena!

Lynn has stopped coaching for 12 months now due to tumor growth that has affected her speech, medical appointments with coordination and side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Lynn loves coaching so this has been difficult emotionally and financially. This not only financially impacts Lynn and her husband Bill, but her Pay It Forward project.

It has been hard for Lynn to think of accepting financial and other support during this life changing process called cancer. Lynn and Bill have a long road ahead of them this year. All donations will support them including medications, general expenses, complementary care, and continuous medical bills. In addition, Lynn is committed to supporting Mara and her family in Belize.

Lynn has a generous and loving heart and cares deeply for family, friends, clients, and animals. Now is the time for all of us—near and far—to come together and support Lynn and return the inspiration, care, and love she gives freely to others.
