Help for Mom Janice Tabone

Growing up, my sister and brothers were taken care of by an amazing lady, Janice Billingslea Tabone. She was in her early 20s, a single mom, and caring for 4 young children. Mom put herself through school while working and caring for her family, often sacrificing her own needs for ours. As we got older, we continuted to see that same self-sacrificing spirit. Making meals for people going through a hard time, or sitting by the bedside of a her dear friend Sandy who was dying of cancer so that she would not be alone.
A few years ago, she moved my grandmother and my uncle into her home so that they would be close and she could care for them. This involved bringing them to countless doctor apointments, managing their medications, making them meals, and getting her hands dirty in really uncomfortable situations. She did this all while asking for nothing in return.
Mom has been sick for about 6 months now, on a painful journey without a lot of answers. From an original diagnosis of pneumonia with incredible neck pain to seeing an infectious disease doctor to a rheumatologist for an auto-immune disease, to possible Lupas. Months of disappointment, constant pain, multiple doctors... without ANY answers and symptoms getting worse.
On February 28th, she went to the emergency room at Maine Med because the pain in her neck was unbearable and was treated with anitbiotics. After days of treatment and no change, doctors now believe that instead of an infection that it's likely cancer. We're now waiting for test results and a treatment plan. This has been a long, painful road for her and also for her family, watching someone that you love so much suffer without relief or answers.
We are asking for help now so that Mom and husband Jim will be able to focus on treatment and recovery instead of mortgage payments and bills. Since this started six months ago, Mom hasn't been able to work and Jim has taken a lot of unpaid time off in order to support and care for his wife. We feel it's the least that we can do for someone who sacrificed her time and given so much of herself to others throughout her life.
