Emergency Debt Assistance

Hello friends, family, extended family, and associates!

Many of you reading this might know me as a husband and a father, and many more will probably know me as one of the active members of the salesforce.com community, often answering questions and providing insight day after day, with no thought of reward or recompense. There's been many offers of beer over the years, which of course is more an expression of generousity rather than an actual gift, but for once, I find myself in need of a few beers worth of money.

To explain, we've had several friends over the past few months run into various financial emergencies, which we've always tried to assist people any way we can, often with no expectation of return. Sometimes, though, we also loan people money without interest, and those are generally paid back on time. We've done this for years as a matter of being kind-hearted, and it's never been a problem.

Lately, however, for various reasons, some of these people have fallen on hard times, and as a consequence, we've fallen behind ourselves. Every time we're almost caught up, it seems we're faced with another unexpected bill or payment that we simply can't afford, and it's stacked up a few thousand dollars now. We've tried finding loans, extending our credit, everything that we can think of, but we're simply not that well off financially.

We're now at a point where more than 100% of our income would be needed just to catch up with our back bills because of late fees, overdraft fees, and interest, and we're likely to default on some of our obligations without assistance. While we continue to strive to catch up on our own, we would be eternally grateful for anyone out there that can help us reach financial stability.

The funds raised by this campaign will help us catch up on our obligations, including home-owner association fees, utilities, rent, Internet services (which I use primarily to work from home), cell phone bills, and other bills. Not being able to meet all of our obligations may cost us our heat, our place to live, our cars, or our other property that we have.

Once we were caught up, we would no longer be living from paycheck to paycheck, and would finally begin to be able to save money for future emergencies. Our monthly obligation is only about half of our net income, but it would take us more than a month to get caught up, at which point, it simply may be too late.

We simply need to be given the second chance that we've given so many others. Please feel free to contribute whatever you are able. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
