Kenya Expedition
Spende geschützt
My name is Molly Hayward, and I am a year nine student fundraising to go on a month-long expedition to Kenya with my school. I am looking for sponsorships from companies to help me raise money (though I am fundraising most of the money by bake sales, car washes and more) it is still a lot of money for me to raise with the expedition costing £4000. The companies that sponsor me will have their logo printed on my camps international T shirt that I will be wearing throughout the expedition. There will be many opportunities for your logo to be seen for example in photos and videos posted online from my expedition and advertisement for further expeditions, this will both promote your business and show that your business is contributing to worthy charities.
More about my Kenya expedition:
There will be four main aspects of my expedition these are community, environment, wildlife, and adventure. Whilst travelling through Kenya I will be staying in small rural communities most of which are living in poverty; here me and my classmates will be building new homes for vulnerable families, constructing marketplaces for communities to generate an income, building classrooms to improve access to education, installing clean water supplies for villages, as well as this we also get to build friendships and bonds with the people living in these villages and learn to understand their culture and their language.
We will also be working with wildlife doing things like digging water holes for elephants, planting food trees for orangutangs, assisting sea turtles’ conservation, making elephant dung paper that the locals then paint on, and can then sell, planning environment education workshops for local schools we will also build fences to keep the elephants away from the farmers crops this will prevent the farmer having to shoot the elephants and their crops being destroyed.
The environment section of my expedition consists of planting seedlings in a rainforest tree nursery, beach cleaning and any flip flops found are made into eco friendly art and keyrings, supporting sustainable Argo fisheries developments. Previous students that have embarked on this expedition have cleared over 15 tons of marine refuse from fragile coastlines.
The final part of my expedition is adventure; this includes activities such as hiking, scuba courses, mountain and jungle treks, and a wildlife safari.
My expedition will be with camps international and in previous expeditions they have vaccinated and treated more than 20,000 livestock to improve animal welfare, planted at least 1.1 million extra trees since 2003, positively impacted on the lives of over 120,000 people and protected 100,000 hectares of endangered wildlife in 7 of the world’s most biodiversity hotspots.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter and please consider the sponsorship because this is a once in a lifetime experience for me and I’m sure will have a massive impact on my life, and the time I spend in Kenya will help me grow as a person. It will also help me get into colleges, sixth forms, universities, and jobs in the future.
Kind regards,
Molly Hayward.
