Daily Bread: Feed the Local Kids

Donation protected

Let's be the daily bread for our most
vulnerable children and neighbors in
need of food today.

Children in Elmhurst, Illinois who
normally receive a free or reduced-cost meal at school are drastically affected by school closures brought on by
COVID-19.

We are avoiding individual drop-off
donations, and will use our financial
donations to strategically purchase non-perishables that are healthy, balanced,
and will suit the needs of the most
vulnerable members of our community.

We are purchasing goods as the
donations come in and will be
assembling and storing bundles at our
church, Elmhurst Presbyterian Church,
to be delivered to
local school families throughout the
COVID-19 Closures.

Pastor Traci Smith reminded us during   our virtual worship this week in her
benediction that we are called to be the daily bread for others.

"Friends as you go out into this week,
whatever God has in store for you this
week, whether you are at home or out at work, may you go knowing there
is daily bread for you. And may you go
knowing that you can be the daily bread for someone else. "

Funds will  be spent on non-perishable items purchased for specific families who qualify for meals from school, and are in short term crisis right now.

We will be purchasing foods online where abundance is available, and assemblingbundles in our church located in
Elmhurst, IL, which we will drop to
schools on days coordinated with
families.

Amen!
