Dear friends and family,

As many of you know, my beloved sister Nancy Washburn was diagnosed with Ductal Caricinoma In Situ (DCIS) breast cancer in the fall of 2022, a condition that required her to undergo a double mastectomy this past January. Thankfully, the cancer has not spread to her lymph nodes, providing a glimmer of hope in an otherwise challenging journey. She remains on the road to recovery as her body adjusts and she has subsequent surgeries following her mastectomy, including an additional at the end of this summer which will require her to be out of work once again.

While insurance helps with medical bills, Nancy is still facing mounting co-pays due from her procedures and I am reaching out to you today to help support our sister during her recovery. As she navigates this difficult period, she faces the additional challenge of being unable to work, as she must dedicate her energy and time to properly heal. Nancy must use disability payments while she is out of work on recovery which is only a fraction of her normal income.

We all know Nancy as a fiercely independent and resilient woman. Despite her personal struggles, her unwavering love for her children shines through. As summer approaches, she wants nothing more than to give her little ones a sense of normalcy and joy, ensuring they have a memorable and fun-filled season.
