Empathy for Us

Donation protected
During times of political and civil unrest, a global health crisis, and an economic collapse, many of our communities are hurting. Please help me raise money for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance's COVID-19 Community Fund. I am hosting a donation-based Seen and Safe virtual healing circle Empathy for Us: unpacking anti-blackness + colorism, the traumatic effects of lived experiences internalizing these beliefs, and ways to actively become allies for marginalized communities.

All donors of this fundraiser will SECURE a guaranteed spot to this healing circle (previously this has always been on a free first-come, first-serve basis).  Additionally, the highest donor will receive a one-on-one breakout session with me for 20 minutes (to speak freely on whatever they wish).

***Whatever is donated cumulatively, I will match with my own money.***

Thank you so much!
Amy

More info on these organizations:

NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.

The Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) is the first and only national organization of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) workers, most of who are union members, and our allies advancing worker, immigrant and civil rights. Over 2 million AAPI workers are at the front lines fighting COVID-19, and on top of that, millions of workers are experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic. That loss of income means that many workers are struggling to cover basic needs for their families, all while facing challenges that include anti-Asian racism in and out of the workplace. That’s why APALA is launching the COVID-19 Community Fund to help workers and their families with direct financial support.
