As many of you may know, I was recently elected to be a delegate the the Democratic National Convention for Joe Biden. This is a huge honor and opportunity, but also an expensive one. The Convention Packet fees alone are $1,450 which includes hotel room (5 nights), breakfasts (4), NCDP social events, etc. More over, half of this payment is due on the June 17th.
I hate to be fundraising for myself during this time in our country, so I urge you to also consider donating to Black Lives Matter https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ms_blm_homepage_2019 or other organizations assisting in the relief efforts right now if you are able.
The fact of the matter is, as a college student, I simply do not have that type of money, but I also realize the need for young people to be in these rooms and I am honored to have been elected. I also know the strong likelihood that this convention will be canceled due to the current pandemic, and if it is, all donations will be returned.
