Emily Gale - Borneo 2021

Hi, my name is Emily and in 18 months time I will be travelling to Borneo as part of an expedition with school. I'll be doing some great things, such as building clean water pumps, schools and other charitable deeds.  I’ll also visit an endangered orangutan sanctuary and help them rehabilitate, as most of their natural habitat has been destroyed for things such as the palm oil trade.

Currently I'm trying to juggle A levels, a job and raising funds for the expedition. I've estimated that my job can cover around 35% of this. The total price includes flights, immunisations and activities.

This really is going to be wonderful for my personal development.  It will allow me to develop a wide range of key transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership, decision making, time management, enterprise, initiative and more. It's without doubt a very big additional commitment on top of my studies but previous students have shown that it's not only possible, but often it can enhance other aspects of life in a very positive way.

At the minute I'm doing everything I can to raise as much money as possible, such as bake sales, tombolas, and sponsorship events.
