Emergency Trip to Help Our Dad

We are asking for your help covering the costs of an emergency trip that I took to Michigan to assist with our dad’s recovery from Covid-19 in December 2021. You can also venmo me @Nobuko-Hori to avoid processing fees; I will adjust the goal for the fundraiser accordingly for any funds received directly.
In mid-December, we learned that our dad was pretty sick; I flew out to Michigan on the morning of the 16th and got him to the hospital. Since he’s been hospitalized I've been staying in Michigan to monitor his care with his doctors and nurses, bring him hot meals and advocate for him. However, I don’t have any connections in the area besides my dad, so I have had to stay in a motel and the trip has been more expensive than I can really afford.
My dad was hospitalized 12/16, discharged to rehab on 12/22, then had a flare up of symptoms that led to re-hospitalization on 12/29 for a lung abscess and secondary infection. Since 12/31 he's been out of isolation and I've been able to visit him. As of 1/7 he was discharged to rehab and is still on oxygen support; slowly but surely he is getting stronger.
Having a daughter nearby while going through this scary illness has meant so much to my dad. Since he is a Japanese immigrant with limited English, he needed someone to help him navigate the hospital system and monitor his care. I have regularly been translating between him and the nurses and doctors (as well as bringing him food, healthy goodies and Christmas gifts sent from home) and visiting with him since he’s been out of isolation.
The plan is to take him back to our home in NJ to support his recovery. I'm asking for your support to help me cover the costs of the first two weeks of this unexpected trip. We really appreciate any help given. Thank you for your consideration and support.
