Emergency Fund for Jovanny

Jovanny is a trans and queer migrant who fled violence and persecution in Mexico.  He was detained by ICE in Northern California and held in solitary confinement for five months simply because he is trans.

Jovanny won his immigration case recently after a long and hard fight, and was released from ICE detention. Jovanny is currently unhoused and was just laid off from his job in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Presently, there are no shelters that can receive him and the waitlist for a shelter for trans/GNC folks is long.

We are raising emergency funds to help pay for short-term housing, food, and other basic needs during this time. We are hoping to get funds to him as soon as possible due to the urgency of his circumstances.
