My name is Bruno, and I am originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Although I now live in the United States, my heart remains closely connected to my home state. I am raising funds to support Lar de Freitas in Ubá, Minas Gerais, a nonprofit organization that was recently devastated by severe flooding starting late night on 2/23.
During the flood, elderly residents were found sleeping in their beds surrounded by water and mud. The floodwaters invaded the facility overnight, filling rooms with contaminated water and destroying mattresses, bedding, food supplies, furniture, and essential living spaces. Lar de Freitas operates a daycare that cares for 90 children and also supports vulnerable seniors and families through its social assistance programs, including the distribution of food baskets. The damage has impacted not just the building, but an entire community that depends on their care.
They now urgently need financial assistance to restore safe and sanitary conditions for the children and seniors they serve.
Funds raised will go toward:
-Replacing mattresses and bedding
-Food and hygiene supplies
-Cleaning and basic repairs
This is a personal fundraiser organized by me in the United States. All donations will be deposited into my U.S. bank account and then transferred 100% directly to Lar de Freitas in Brazil. I will share proof of transfers and updates.
If you’re able to help, any amount makes a difference.
If not, please consider sharing.
Thank you for your compassion. ❤️
Bruno
