Today the unthinkable happened. One of my best friends here in AK called me to tell me that Chris (Her boyfriend) was shot while they (and Daejah their daughter) were doing laundry at the laundry mat. 

Chris was shot in the abdomen, the bullet hit his bladder, his small bowel, and exited through his right gluteus above his pelvis. We are SO grateful that it missed his spine, kidney, nerves, and other major organs! He was in surgery for almost 4 hours, they repaired his bladder and removed a portion of his small bowel that was too badly mangled from the bullet, as well as fixing all the bleeding that was going on from the gun shot.

Chris will be in the hospital for at least a week. He will be out of work for quite a while recovering!  Ashley fears that she will not be able to finish the last 5 weeks of Nursing school because bills will mount and she will have to work immediately, as he was the sole income for their family. She is still in shock, from this situation and doesn't know I am doing this. But in times of need, THIS is what we do. We take care of our people. 

I am asking for anyone, and everyone to look deep down, and help during this incredibly difficult time for this little family.  I really wish I could cover their bills myself, but that just isn't a possibility.
