SUPER SUPPER CLUB, BRISTOL BS5; LAUNCHES A FREE MEAL TAKEWAY AND DELIVERY SERVICE
My name is Helen. I'm one of the volunteers at Super Supper Club, Bagator, Bristol BS5. We've are offering a FREE home cooked meals service for anyone in Bristol BS5 and nearby surrounding areas during the Covid virus pandemic.
We started a weekly Supper Super Club takeaway and a delivery service to take our food out on the road offering free delicious meat and vegetarian (frozen) meals which can be heated up . They're available for anyone in the community.
Meals will include dishes such as lasagne, stuffed peppers, chicken casserole, vegetarian cottage pie, sausage, onion gravy and mash etc. Where we can we always try and add in some treats.
As an established food-based community service for BS5, when we could no longer run our weekly supper club for the community in Baggator, Easton, we wanted to find away of still supporting those who use our service and reaching out to others in BS5 who may need home cooked meals during the Covid pandemic.
It's based on our concept of using supermarket food (many thanks to M&S, Aldi and Lidl) which would otherwise be thrown away to provide three course meals for our local community in Bristol, BS5. through our weekly Super Supper Club. We were able to set up thanks to Neighbourly who enabled us to access free supermarket food for our meals.
We only started last week (22 April) and have already created and delivered 200 meals for our local community. With your help we will be able to continue helping hundreds of households in BS5 and surrounding areas.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We would love your help to keep this service going. Although we get some supermarket donations, this can't be relied on and we need to supplement our supermarket donated food with food which we buy including meat. We need your support to pay for;-
+++food to supplement food donated by supermarkets
+++takeaway boxes
+++safety equipment for our volunteers
+++food hygiene training
+++rent of our premises where we cook our food and prepare deliveries
We are also looking for volunteers to help prepare and deliver the food (on a Wednesday) at Baggator, Easton. We are also trialling a Saturday service in Barton HIll, so need help with this service too.

Our meals are for anyone in the local community who feels they want one.
However we will prioritise those who are vulnerable including those who need to isolate at home or may not have a permanent home and we can help key workers.

We've been operating in Easton for over two years, transforming super market food, which would otherwise be thrown away into delicious three course meals for a donation of £3+ to cover the costs of renting premises and food we can't get donated. Our community love coming to our Wednesday Super Supper Club as much for the company as for the delicious food.
