Marcothon for Coatbridge Community Food Bank

My kids attend Greenhill Primary Schools in Coatbridge. The children have been learning about their rights which are listed in a document called the UN Convention on The Rights of the Child, or UNCRC. They have recently been learning about Article 27, which states that every child has the right to an adequate standard of living that is good enough to meet their physical needs, their social needs and support their development. Whilst doing research in class, the children found that 2020 has seen a 62% increase in children in Scotland needing to be fed from food banks when compared with 2019. 

The pupils have planned to do a Rights Run in school in December and in partnership with Coatbridge Community Foodbank have arranged for a food collection to take place. Inspired by the children's passion to make a positive difference I have also decided to raise  funds on my own as well as donating to the schools great cause.

A Markothon is running at leat 5km a day everyday in December.

Since 1st of December I have done 128 km of running and on course  to smash the 155km target. You guys can check this out at Dylan Burns on Strava.
