Third Root Community Health Center is establishing this fund in honor of Em Samolewicz to create access for trans women's healing.
From now until Oct 31, 2020, we are collecting funds that will welcome trans women & trans femmes to receive healing services from Third Root at no cost. Services include massage, acupuncture, yoga and herbal medicine.
Em was deeply committed to ensuring healing services were accessible and provided for trans feminine community. This fundraiser will honor this commitment and her legacy.
Please donate to this effort, which we hope will live on in memoriam beyond that date.

It’s with a deep and breath-taking grief that we share of the loss of our beloved Em Samolewicz. She was killed this morning by a truck while riding her bike, like all too many people in the metropolitan area this past year.
Em worked at Third Root first as a volunteer and then as an admin staff member since 2016. A key member of our worker family, she brought her passion, humor, and creative sense to our space and made it her home.
Our sadness is palpable along with our shock.
We hold Em and her loved ones in our hearts, along with all of you.
