Hello friends and family!!
I am volunteering this summer for an organization called Ghana Health and Education Initiative (GHEI). GHEI works closely with communities in southwest Ghana to address the challenges of rural development. GHEI is founded on principles of international solidarity and has the mission of promoting the advancement of health and education in the BibianiAnhwiaso-Bekwai District of Ghana by providing the resources and the necessary support to effect change through health and education programs. In particular I am participating in their Health Evaluations program that educates small rural communities about malaria prevention and sexual and reproductive health. In order to allow this program to create sustainable growth and development it requires that each volunteer raise $2000 for its organization. These funds will not be going towards any of my personal travel expenses but rather straight to the organization itself. Plus, it's tax deductible! Any little bit counts and is much appreciated. My program runs from June 20th-July 11th and I have to raise this money before I leave. Below is the link if you would like to know more!
