Eliot's 1st Half Marathon for Casa Del Lago

Friends – since Christmas, I have been preparing for the longest journey of my life. 13.1 miles. On Saturday, l plan to run in the worlds largest half marathon.
To provide additional incentive for me to finish, I am raising money for a cause that is very near and dear to my home, my heart and my friends.
Every little bit of motivation well help me finish. I am asking you to consider pledging to Casa Del Lago $10, $25 or even $100 for every mile I run.
Casa del Lago helps strengthen children, parents and families in the Bachman Lake community of Dallas, which is one of the poorest and densest neighborhoods in Dallas.
A couple of highlights:
- Casa just completed its third preschool school year, with 80% of graduates attending magnet or charter schools.
- On June 1, Casa starts summer youth reading camps program for over 100 area children. Casa trains 16 high schoolers who will staff the camp this summer in cross-cultural communication, reading instruction and life skills. Working with community partners, Summer Youth Corps ('SYC') provides socialization, reading instruction, free lunch, as well as fun activities like swimming at the local YMCA and a visit to the museum for children who otherwise might be unable to access such opportunities. SYC mobilizes local high schoolers in their own backyard with a stipend, community volunteer hours and leadership training.
As a young organization, Casa largely relies on the generous funding of individuals and a families.
If 10% of the people receiving this email pledge $10 per mile, together we could fund half a month of Casa's operations!!!
