Elena Smith Medical and Travel Expenses

Please consider donating to John and Elena Smith and their two boys as Elena begins the journey of battling cancer a second time.

Elena Smith was initially diagnosed with esophageal cancer on May 5, 2021. In February of 2022, there were no signs of disease and her scans remained clear for the last couple of years. However this past February, she found out the cancer was back and is now in her lymph nodes. The lymph nodes are enlarged and mainly around her mid section. Some are pushing into her spine causing serious back pain which is interrupting her level of physical activity and sleep. At the end of March, she will be meeting with MD Anderson to consider their treatment plan as well as a treatment center based in Mexico. Both of these facilities have large upfront costs that add up to over $50,000. This amount doesn’t include the cost of travel and lodging for not only Elena but for John and other friends and family that will need to be present to care for her during treatment.
