Spende geschützt
Ellie has been experiencing medication-resistant epilepsy and seizures up to 20+ a day for over a year. In 2023, she spent over a month of her 3rd year of life in the hospital under observation and treatment.
In late October, Ellie had a left temporal lobectemy (they removed 90% of her left temporal lobe) in the hopes that it would alleviate the epilepsy.
Since the surgery, her seizures have changed but have come back just as strong, unfortunately. Ellie underwent a second surgery to install a drain to relieve intracranial pressure from a buildup of cerebral fluids on December 2, 2023. If the seizures don’t improve soon Ellie will undergo testing to see if there is another source for the seizures including her frontal lobe and possibly more surgeries.
Ellie’s family has been stretched thin for over a year, living on one income and travelling back and forth regularly the 300 km from their home in Hinton, AB, to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, AB. If you feel inclined to help the family - any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
