Kendall’s Recovery

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I am Kendall’s mom. On October 31, 2023 Kendall was admitted to Scottish Rite Hospital and they performed emergency surgery on both of his hips. He was diagnosed with Bilateral SCFE. Both of his hip joints/growth plates had slipped off the bone of the femur. He had a screw placed in each femur. He will need to walk with a walker short distances and use a wheelchair for anything more than a few feet. He will be in physical therapy for quite a while, and seeing his orthopedic surgeon periodically. These funds will be used for his care and also so that I can take the time off of work to make sure that he is at every doctor appointment and therapy session. Kendall’s dream is to play basketball for a living and to do that he has to be able to walk first. I just want to be able to be there with him as much as he needs me to be without worry that our home will be taken away or his care will be stilted because I can’t pay for the appointments he needs. Thank you so much for even reading this. He is a big brother, a son, a grandson, a teammate, and just an all around good kid who got hit with a little bad luck. I just need a little help to get him back on his feet again.
