Bailey's Vet Bill

Hi, My name is Amanda Lindsay and I fundraising to help with Baileys Emergency Vet Bills.

Bailey is our young Black Lab and she means the world to us.

On April 26th and 27th Bailey started vomiting and then after that refused to eat. We tried all the normal home remedies for vomiting - Boiled rice & hamburger and pumpkin puree. She wanted none of it. Being a lab, when they don't want to eat, you know things are not good.

On April 29th we took her to AprilVets and they did bloodwork for tick related diseases and X-Rays to rule out a blockage.

On May 1st, she still wasn't eating so back to Vet for more blood work. Her results of the blood tests indicate there was someone very wrong with her liver. From there she was rushed to the Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency & Referral Hospital for an ultrasound and to be admitted. The ultrasound indicated her bile duct was extremely dilated and there was some sort of blockage or obstruction there. She was a very sick girl. They started her on IV antibiotics and pain meds. She was kept there for 3 nights with repeated blood tests and meds.

On May 4th she had finally started eating on her own and would take her meds by mouth. She was much better and certainly not out of the woods. She was sent home with a bag of antibiotics and pain meds. As long as she would eat and take her pills she could stay at home with us.

On May 7th she had a follow up ultrasound at the ER. She showed improvement but still had a long way to go.

On May 12th she was back at our own vets for more bloodwork. There is still improvements on her liver numbers but she has still not got back to the normal range yet. It was decided that she would continue with Antibiotics for the mext 3 week since they were definitely improving her situation.

As of May 13 she has racked up Vet Bills totaling $9,708.56 between her regular vet and the ER vet visits. Until her liver values are back in the normal ranges there will regular ultrasounds and bloodwork follow ups for the next little while.

Bailey has been my little furry rock with everything I am going through. A great little warm body to curl up around while going trough my Chemo treatments and all that entails. I'm currently on a Chemo vacation but I expect to be back on Chemo after June again. There was never any question that we were going to do everything possible to get her better again.

Any help with her bills would be much appreciated.
