Suspended Government Shutdown

I don’t really know how to start this paragraph as like most of the 800,000 employees affected by the government shut down this is truly a hard position to be in.  I take great pride in the fact that I have served the American people in many different facets of the government. I have supported our brave firefighters within the Department as they fought blazing fires for weeks on end to hiring veterans into the agency after they served their time in our great military.

 A great part of my identity is waking up every day and proudly going to work. Through this notion I was able to teach my son and daughter the importance of a great work ethic every day. Now that the shutdown has happened like many others I have found myself struggling to make everything financially work. As a government employee you know this is possibility however never in a million years did I think it would go on this long. I had reserves to pay my bills for 2 weeks but with the continuation of the shutdown it has left me to struggling like many others as to how I can continue to go on like this. Not knowing when I will be going back to work and my bills are continuing  is causing my stress and anxiety level to  rise and causing me health issues. 

I have 2 kids and 3 wonderful grandchildren. My family has been great trying to pitch in as much as they can, but it breaks my heart to have to have my children stay up at night trying to find ways to support me. I am supposed to be the mother and help them. My only goal today on GofundMe is to raise enough money to pay my mortgage, utilities, prescriptions, and groceries for the month. This is definitely hard for me to do as I am a strong independent woman and have never asked for anything. I raised 2 kids as a single mother and never received an ounce of support from anyone. With that said, I humbly ask compassionate and caring people if there is any donation they can give my family it would be so greatly appreciated from the bottom of my heart.
