Edge_Lane_Bowl Rathbone Skatepark Liverpool

Hi, my name is Jay Kay. I’m fundraising for the Liverpool community to bring back Rathbone skatepark.

We are a group of ‘older !’ Bmxers and skaters who grew up on our bikes back in the eighties.

Rathbone was a huge part of our lives and for so many people of Liverpool and further afield, who have amazing memories of it. Over the past twenty years it has been left to rot and fall into disrepair.

The bowl is still intact but needs some love and attention. Ben Lewis kickstarted the cleaning out process, which so far has taken 7 weeks of hard voluntary labour, his friends and the community are slowly gathering momentum and is now really taking shape. Everyone volunteer s their time and each bag of sand / cement is bought out of the good will of locals and helpers.

Still lots of work to do but the help is coming, we have volunteers but we are needing support in the way of materials. To rebuild the broken sections and to paint and preserve it.

We want to see this park being used again like it was in the 70’s, 80’s. A community space that we are proud of and share, like we did back in the day. Please share this page come down and get involved. Bring your kids and they’ll learn some skills and keep the skatepark alive for generations to come . If you can’t get down, please hit that donate button, every penny and pound goes straight to the build and improving this space. We are holding a Jam, Open day Saturday 23rd July. Everyone welcome, bmx / skate / scooter / mtb . The bowl is 50% repaired, we hope to have it ready by the open day ( depending on funds ) but either way come down , enjoy and ride the bowl like it’s the 80’s ❤️
