Donate to Rasmussen Moving Fund!

The Rasmussen’s are heading to Maine! Our wonderful neighbors and former owners of Cooper Point Public House, Sam, Melissa, Isabel and Anton Rasmussen and, of course Lucy, the dog are heading east to begin again. They are planning to leave soon on their cross-country journey before the New Year. Let’s send them off with a financial boost for the long haul ahead! They will be able to use the funds to help cover moving costs and the costs of settling in to a brand new community.

Cooper Point Public House was a hub for our community. Sam and Melissa started it from scratch over seven years ago. After several years working for restaurants they decided to start their own. At first they thought they might start with a take-out pizza joint but the restaurant idea took on a life of it’s own and the Public House was born.

 For over seven years they served delicious “pub grub”, West Coast brews and warm hospitality. So many have enjoyed not only great food but great memories. And those onion rings…!

 Covid has not been kind to restaurant owners and the Pub is no exception. The pub closure on October 8 marked the end of many difficult months where they took care of their employees with no profit for themselves. 

 So the Rasmussen family is heading to Maine where there are some family connections and fewer Covid cases. We wish them a very bright future. Please donate to their moving fund and us send them off with a boost from the Olympia community. Thank you Rasmussens and Godspeed!
