East Hill Cemetery Tree Donations

Donation protected
You may have learned of the devastating loss of trees at East Hill Cemetery due to the storm that struck Rushville, Indiana on June 3rd.   The good news is that it happened in the evening and no one was hurt.  The bad news is that we have lost at least 25 of our beautiful trees that have fallen across roadways and into sections.  We are still assessing the damage, but one estimate for the cost of tree removal alone is $32,000.  This did not include possible monument repair, stump removal, and replacement of trees.  We did have another company bid less than this amount that includes stump removal, but not monument repair and replacement of trees.

We have not allowed people into the cemetery yet with the exception of funerals because of the dangers posed by these downed trees.  We apologize, but our utmost concern is for your safety.   Your support will help us expedite the reopening to the public.

Any monies raised over the goal will be used for the planting of trees and beautification of the cemetery.

Your support in this fundraiser is greatly appreciated.
