Eagle Scout Vassallo Fund
Donation protected
Vassallo Park’s greenery and key location in the heart of the upper village make it a convenient spot for lunch, relaxation with a book, performances, or sports.
However, the picnic tables are in need of replacement, so I decided that my Eagle Scout project would be to improve the overall quality of the park. In addition to replacing a picnic table, my project consists of removing invasive plants (Japanese knotweed).
This knotweed has been overtaking usable space, most noticeably in a patch jutting into the field, and after clearing it out, I will be replacing it with more grassy area.
So far, I have led four work sessions and more than 20 volunteers removing the knotweed in the landscaping piece of my project, and now I am raising funds for necessary materials and a picnic table.
All donations are appreciated.
