Help Sammy’s family

Dear friends and family,  

I’m Aline Proenca and I’d like to ask you all for help on behalf of our loved friends Ana Lígia and Marcio, and our loved Sammy who will have to go through a surgery coming this Dec 2021.

Sammy was diagnosed with CPAM - a malformation in his right lung - and has been followed up by specialists even before his birthday. Although asymptomatic, there are some complications that can occur as a result of this condition. For this reason, a resection surgery is recommended in order to remove a part of his lung and to allow that healthy tissue to regrow. Surgery will take place on December 13th at the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg.

Sammy’s surgery will demand at least 5 days under intensive care, so Ana Lígia and Marcio will take turns caring for him at the hospital. With all covid restrictions and commuting obstacles considering they live out of town, they will need to spend a few days around the hospital while Sammy recovers. Expenses include hotel, meals, parking and such, and any amount you can donate to make this process a little lighter is much appreciated!
