Help Shawna with Medical Expenses

Our friend, Shawna Waddell, was involved in a devastating atv accident the night of 4/10/2021. She has some extensive injuries (including but not limited to head, facial and multiple fractures). Currently hospitalized at UPMC Hamot. We will update as we know more. 

Everyone who knows Shawna loves her. To be friends with her is to be family. She is a loving individual, perseverant, and a hard worker. She is a cherished face at Presque Isle Downs and most recently started employment at a local Erie tackleshop. An animal lover, she has a horse, two dogs, a cat and a ferret. She is, most importantly, a mother to two beautiful girls! 

If anyone needs a hand or an ear, Shawna is there. This is our time to be there for her and to offer her our support. She does have state health coverage but does not have much in savings, I know her friends and her racetrack family will step up to assist. If you have run a horse at PID, Shawna may have hustled the work. She’s a hustler, right now she won’t be able to do her hustle! Shawna is one to never ask for help, so I am asking for her. I put a 5k goal but want to raise as much as possible. This is going to be a very difficult journey for her and her family. 

Shawna needs to focus on her recovery and any financial assistance may help lighten the weight. This is going to be a long road.
