Berschauer Guatemala Mission Trip

Dear Friends,
We'd like to share an exciting opportunity that we are pursuing as a family. Janelle and I have both experienced the blessings and impact of short term missions in the past and have desired to find a way to experience this with our kids. Our church, Northlake Community Church in Bellingham, has sent teams of workers over several years to Huehuetenango, Guatemala. We are planning to join a family-based team going to Guatemala this June. Our group will help coordinate and run vacation Bible school programs in the community.
We hope this will be an opportunity for our family to experience together:
· How to trust God in faith - we aren't familiar with the language or country of Guatemala and it is a large financial commitment to get there.
· How to openly share our faith with others
· How to support the ministries of believers in other places of the world
· A culture that is very different from our own and the perspective this will bring when we return home
We need your partnership to make this trip possible. We are asking people to pray for us as we prepare, as we go, and as we process the experience upon return. Please pray for our team of families, specifically for health and safety throughout the trip. Please pray for the people we will be meeting, the local churches in Guatemala, and the children that will be hearing the Gospel. Please pray for God's provisions in the funding we need to go to Guatemala.
We are also looking for partnership financially. At this point, the required costs for our family of six is $6,000 to cover transportation, lodging, food, and ministry expenses. If you are able, you can support us with a tax-deductible financial donation. We are excited to see how God provides for this trip and increases our faith, and the faith of our children, in this process.
