Dylan's continued care and funeral costs for mom

After a year-long painful battle with bile duct cancer, our mother passed on 07/07/2022. This go-fund me is put in place as part of a dying wish of continued support of living expenses for my brother Dylan and funeral cost for our mother Carol Jacoy. 

For those of you who don’t know, My brother Dylan was in a traumatic car accident in 2018, which left him disabled. Dylan has a traumatic brain injury as well as mental health issues and, at this time, can not work or live completely independently.

After the accident, My mom became Dylan’s full-time caregiver while working as an RN. She did her best to provide for him, but the stress was just too much. My mom endured so much pain from cancer and her heartache at leaving Dylan. She was so worried and stressed about what would happen to him after she was gone.

I promised to help in the best way I could.

Because Dylan can not live on his own, he will be going to a group home. However, the waiting list for the group home is at least a year and a half from now.

The plan was for Dylan to stay in the apartment that he lived in with my mom until the group home opened for him. However the landlords are not extending the lease to Dylan and now he has to move. 

I will be helping him with meds, meals, and basic care, but as some may know, the disability check he receives would never cover the rent and bills.
