Dylan's Coming Back to America

Friends,

Some of you have probably noticed that I’ve been having a rough time for the last few months. I suffered two major injuries, which made me miss a flight back to the United States, and I’m still finding it difficult to get back. Because I was planning to leave in early June, I haven’t been working this whole time. That means that my money is almost gone, which has become a major obstacle to my return.

I hate asking for money, but I do need funds for a few reasons: (a) to eat — I have almost no money left; (b) to throw some money at my landlord, because I’ve been staying without rent this whole time and he’s getting agitated; (c) to buy a new suitcase — I have a ragged old suitcase that would never survive an international flight; and (d) in order to reschedule the flight, the airline will probably charge me a hefty fee, possibly over 600 dollars.

I don’t want to burden any individual with these kinds of expenses, so I’m trying to crowdfund it. I haven’t seen my family or my friends in New York for over 7 years, and I feel like I’m so close, yet so far, from returning. If people could chip in what they can, it would make a big difference.
