Cambridge Fire Barn

Hi all - I am Staci Trumble, daughter of fallen retired firefighter John JP Trumble, Cambridge, NE...Road 702 Fire. - My family and community will lay him to rest today, 4/29/2022.

Dad Died a Hero; many people have died Hero's.
SO many people fight for others everyday but it takes tragedy for all of us to truly understand what they give.

SW Nebraska has had tragic fires in the past month that have claimed the lives of two brave men, plus injuring many others.

The fire that took dads life was like nothing these firefighters have seen.

My brother, a fellow fireman, was out fighting the fires Saturday and Sunday (after learning of dad's passing cause that's what these guys do, they show up BIG all the time. When they signed up to "volunteer," they signed up to leave everything that matters in their personal life to go save the lives of others, all while leaving worried loved ones behind to cover everything. The entire farming community, 70 other VOLUNTEER fire departments, and many others were doing all they could to save lives, homes, property, and livelihoods until the area got manpower and equipment relief, two days later. What was saved is incredible! These individuals SHOWED UP for DAYS during the fire, and they have continued to show up for days for my family and community since.

But that is just what they do. They show up BIG, all the time. Big ALL the time.

It will forever be ingrained in my memory....knowing Mom was evacuating, Dad was out helping evacuate, and my brother Kyle was fighting the fire. Mom says "just talked to dad, he said go East, so that is what we are doing. Kyle is fighting the fire, but Dad hasn't talked to him; he said he will call me back." Last words "Now I know what you went through" - Dad

Here's where I need your help. Here is where my little hometown and most small towns need your help.

We have to get our volunteer emergency response teams the resources they need to be able to support our small communities. Long before Dad retired from the department, he made it clear the fire barn was not big enough to do what they needed to do. The Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department is forced to store trucks and equipment miles away because the building they currently occupy is not large enough to keep what they need. Imagine the delay this causes when the call comes in for a fire.

Years ago, Dad decided to retire from his business of JP Repair. The building was later demolished, and the land changed hands a couple of times. Recently transactions were made to secure this land for a future fire barn.

NOW is the time to help these volunteers build what they need to protect Cambridge and surrounding communities!

The day dad died, he and Fire Chief Delaine Soucie were talking about the new fire barn. Dad says "if I win the lottery, I will build it". It is time, we all come together to get this building built for these wonderful volunteers.

**This picture was taken right outside of town near the sign that says Jesus Saves. Above the sign is a cross that was erected years ago by a local business. This area is so important to so many. The fire depicts the tragedy in our area, however once the fire subsided Jesus Saves and the cross remained standing. It's just incredible.

Absolutely no funds will go to the Trumble Family,  This is being set up ONLY for the fire barn.
The goal listed is just a drop in a bucket compared to what this will cost.  Estimates are near $1.5 Million...
