Emergency evacuation fund

Many family and friends are asking us how they can help us.
This is the closest thing to a living nightmare that I have ever experienced.
I don't even know how to put into words what my family and I have gone through since Sunday night around 11 PM. I am one of the lucky ones whose house is still standing but 4 doors down is not so lucky, some of my friends are not so lucky, Sonoma county is on fire.
Audrey's story of the night:
It was 11 PM on Sunday, the girls were asleep and Nick had just fallen asleep. I too was about to fall asleep but Missy, our dog, was acting very weird. At first I ignored her, told her to stop what she was doing. Luckily she didn't stop. I Open the door and it look like Armageddon. The entire sky was red. There were golf ball to grapefruit size embers EVERYWHERE. We evacuated our house within minutes. I did not even have shoes on. But my family and I were safe! After a few hours the fire by my house was put out and I was able to go back just long enough to pack up some supplies. If you have ever gone through anything like this you know that packing when your mind is like this can be very challenging. I drew a blank. Definitely did not pack enough clothes but thankfully my parents have a washer and dryer! My house is not under mandatory evacuation but there are fires all around and the air quality is terrible. At this point my house still stands! But not all my friends are as lucky. The fire is not over, the fear is not over. I hope that I will have a home to go back to. If I do I will open up my doors to any friend that needs a place.
When we first got to Mendocino the air was full of smoke but now with the wins changing we have blue beautiful skies and clean fresh air here in Mendocino. If you need a place to go and breathe the clean air you should get on Highway one and head north!

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to my family. Sorry I've not been able to thank you all personally for your well wishes and prayers. Still trying to handle this reality. Please say stay safe everyone and continue to pray for Santa Rosa.

At this point we are very fortunate to have a home still standing in Santa Rosa. But the fires are still raging... The last I heard the one closest to our house without a 25% containment. With a shift in winds everything can change in a blink. Many of our friends have lost everything. Our community is hurting.
Nicks work is in the middle of all of this which has caused his work to shut down for at least a week. This unexpected gap in work is going to make is month even more stressful, as if a emergency evacuation in the middle of the night was not already stressful enough. Landlords don't care, rent is still expected, bills still need to be paid. We are not sure when myself and the girls will be able to go back due to terrible air-quality. I hear so many stories of people getting sick from breathing all of the toxins in the air from burning houses and businesses.
I cannot even imagine seeing the devastation with my own eyes when I return. This is beyond comprehensible. Anything we raise in addition to what we are asking will go directly to the friends who have lost everything. Thank you so much
