Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Donate To Help Jean!

Hello to everyone, we made this Fundraiser for my little brother Jean He is 11 Years old and he was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when he was 9. If you are not familiar with this condition is An Inherited disorder of progressive muscular weakness, typically in boys it can also cause heart problems since the heart is a muscle.

Let me tell you a little bit more about jean!

When Jean was a young boy about 2-3 years old he would fall alot and well of course it might be normal for a younger child to have those accidents but it was something that was constantly happening and my mom was worried so she decided to take him to the pediatric and the pediatrician would always say that he was fine that it was normal for him to fall since he was a child, every visit my mom would go she would always ask the pediatrician the same question and she would get the same answer.

As my brother gets older about 9 years old my mom notices that my brother is starting to walk a bit different kinda like with his back arched a bit back and he would get tired constantly, days later my brother got sick so my mom decided to take him to the childrens hospital because he was having a urine problem, since we were there my mother spoke to the doctors and let them know she was worry about how he was walking so doctors started running tests for many things and my brother had to be there for 2 weeks doctors comming in and out the room until they found out what it was and they told my mother that my brother has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy which is something they get since they were born.

After that his life was very different many new changes he had to adapt to had to go to different doctors like cardiologist,Neurologist,Physical Therapy

my brother could still walk a bit not very much by this time then a month later my brother had an accident which he tripped over an object and fell on his foot this caused him to break his ankle he was taken to the hospital and they they put on a boot on him

after that day he wasnt able to walk since the boot was to heavy my mom would have to help him do everything he couldnt do anymore.

A month past and his foot healed and we wanted to see if he could atleast stand and try to walk and he couldn't so my mother got a bit worried so they started giving him physical therapy every week. A day ago my brother went to the Muscular Dystrophy hospital and my Brother was seen by 4 doctors, sleeping doctor, cardiologist, neurologist. The sleeping doctor told us that he does have sleep apnea and that it’s very common with people that have his condition , Cardiologist told us his heart is very good right now

And the neurologist

she told us

“ being honest If someone that has muscular dystrophy has a fall they don’t really tend to go back to walking “but she said she wasn’t sure yet because she hadn’t checked him yet

So she checked him and she was just really honest with us and told us that he won’t be able to walk again it was the worst thing a mother could hear.

Now we are trying to see if his Medicaid does accept the different types of things that the physical therapist is trying to get him so he could use inside the home.

Jean is the strongest boy you would ever meet he’s the best thing that we have in our lives and we love him with all our heart and we know that God Is Going to help him and be with him every step of the way in this journey

We make this Go fund me today to raise money, that way my mom could get a Disability van that has all the conditions for my brother since medicaid doesnt cover that and is something that he really needs because he needs his electric wheelchair to go out since he cant walk the disbalitty van would help my mom bring the electric wheelchair with her and would be easier for him, my mom can’t really afford the dissbilitty van since she doesnt work because he requires all her time and help and that’s why we as daughters we want to reach out to anyone that could help with anything!! Hola a todos, hicimos esta recaudación de fondos para mi hermano pequeño Jean. Él tiene 11 años y le diagnosticaron distrofia muscular de Duchenne cuando tenía 9. Si no sabe de esta condición le explico esta condición, es un trastorno hereditario de debilidad muscular progresiva, típicamente en muchachos también puede causar problemas cardíacos ya que el corazón es un músculo. ¡Déjame contarte un poco más sobre Jean! Cuando Jean era un niño de unos 2 o 3 años, se caía mucho y, por supuesto, podría ser normal que un niño más pequeño tuviera esos accidentes, pero era algo que sucedía constantemente y mi madre estaba preocupada, así que decidió tomar la decisión de ir al pediatra y el pediatra siempre decía que estaba bien que era normal que se cayera desde que era un niño, en cada visita que iba mi mamá siempre le hacía la misma pregunta al pediatra y obtenía la misma respuesta . A medida que mi hermano crece alrededor de los 9 años, mi mamá nota que mi hermano está comenzando a caminar un poco diferente, como con la espalda arqueada un poco hacia atrás y se cansaba constantemente, días después, mi hermano se enfermó, así que mi mamá decidió tomar una decisión y lo llevó al hospital de niños porque tenía un problema de orin ya que estábamos allí, mi madre habló con los médicos y les dijo que estaba preocupada por cómo caminaba, por lo que los médicos comenzaron a hacerle pruebas para muchas cosas y mi hermano tenía que estar allí. durante 2 semanas los médicos entraban y salían de la habitación hasta que descubrieron qué era y le dijeron a mi madre que mi hermano tiene distrofia muscular de Duchenne, que es algo que tienen desde que nacio. Después de eso, su vida fue muy diferente, muchos cambios nuevos a los que tuvo que adaptarse, tuvo que acudir a diferentes médicos, como cardiólogo, neurólogo, fisioterapeuta. mi hermano todavía podía caminar un poco, no mucho en ese momento, luego, un mes después, mi hermano tuvo un accidente en el que tropezó con un objeto y cayó sobre su pie, lo que provocó que se rompiera el tobillo, lo llevaron al hospital y lo pusieron en una bota en la pierna después de ese día no pudo caminar ya que la bota era muy pesada, mi mamá tendría que ayudarlo a hacer todo lo que ya no podía hacer. Pasó un mes y su pie sanó y queríamos ver si al menos podía ponerse de pie e intentar caminar y no podía, así que mi madre se preocupó un poco y comenzaron a darle fisioterapia todas las semanas. Hace un día mi hermano fue al hospital de distrofia muscular y mi hermano fue atendido por 4 médicos, médico durmiente, cardiólogo, neurólogo. El médico durmiente nos dijo que sí tiene apnea del sueño y que es muy común en las personas que tienen su condición. El cardiólogo nos dijo que su corazón está muy bien en este momento. y el neurólogo ella nos dijo “ siendo honestos , si alguien que tiene distrofia muscular se cae, en realidad no tiende a volver a caminar “pero ella dijo que aún no estaba segura porque aún no lo había revisado Entonces ella lo revisó y fue realmente honesta con nosotros y nos dijo que no podrá volver a caminar, fue lo peor que una madre pudo escuchar. Ahora estamos tratando de ver si su Medicaid acepta los diferentes tipos de cosas que el fisioterapeuta está tratando de conseguirle para que pueda usar dentro de la casa. Jean es el chico más fuerte que jamás conocerías, es lo mejor que tenemos en nuestras vidas y lo amamos con todo nuestro corazón y sabemos que Dios lo ayudará y estará con él en cada paso del camino en este viaje.
